Multi-material orders are welcome. Each material must meet its individual MOQ, but logistics and documentation are consolidated into a single shipment.
Why Do MOQs Exist?
Natural wallcoverings are handcrafted products. Unlike printed wallpapers that can be run in small batches on digital presses, natural wallcoverings require:
- Fiber sourcing — raw materials (grass, sisal, wood, cork) are procured in batch quantities from agricultural suppliers.
- Dye lot consistency — natural fibers absorb dye differently across batches. A minimum volume ensures consistent color across your order.
- Loom setup — weaving looms require calibration for each weave pattern. Setup time is fixed regardless of order size.
- Backing lamination — applying paper or non-woven backing requires minimum run lengths for quality adhesion.
How to Reduce Your First Order
1. Start with Standard Colors
Our in-stock standard colors have no custom setup costs, which allows more flexible quantities. Custom colorways require lab dips, dye testing and dedicated production runs — hence the higher 500 m² minimum.
2. Combine Materials
If your project uses multiple materials (e.g., grasscloth for guest rooms + sisal for corridors), each material meets its own MOQ but shares a single shipment. This can make a combined order more economical than ordering from multiple suppliers.
3. Request a Trial Order
For new buyers evaluating our products for the first time, we offer trial order flexibility. Contact us with your project details and we'll work out a reduced initial order that lets you assess quality before committing to full MOQ volumes.
4. Use Our Sample Program First
Before placing a production order, take advantage of our 4-tier sample program:
- Digital samples (free) — emailed within 24 hours
- Physical swatch pack ($45 DHL, credited on first order)
- Production proofing panels (1 m × 0.91 m)
- Complimentary specifier kit (for qualified distributors)
Manufacturer's Note: We understand that MOQs can be a barrier for first-time buyers. Our goal is to make your first order as risk-free as possible — that's why we credit sample costs on your first order and offer trial order flexibility. The real barrier isn't MOQ — it's not knowing whether the quality meets your standards. Start with samples.
MOQ for Repeat Orders
After your initial order, repeat orders benefit from:
- Same MOQs — no increase for established buyers
- Dye lot matching — we retain your color reference for batch consistency
- Volume discounts — automatically applied above 1,000 m² per material
- Faster lead times — established patterns ship in 15–20 working days
Frequently Asked MOQ Questions
Can I mix colors within one material's MOQ?
Yes — for standard colors, you can split the 300 m² (or 200 m²) MOQ across multiple colors, with a minimum of 50 m² per color. Custom colorways must meet the full 500 m² per color.
What's the MOQ for a single color?
Standard color: 50 m² minimum per color (within the overall material MOQ). Custom colorway: 500 m² per color.
Is the MOQ measured in rolls or square meters?
We quote in square meters (m²) for clarity. A standard grasscloth roll is 0.91 m × 7.3 m = 6.64 m² per roll. So 300 m² ≈ 45 rolls.
