Powder rooms reward material risk. The small scale means a bold wallcovering decision never overwhelms, and the infrequent use reduces durability concerns relative to corridors or living rooms. This designer understood that and specified four distinct colorways from the GC-218 family across four rooms in a single client portfolio.

Total area was only 45 m², but the order required tight color separation in production to prevent cross-contamination between the dye lots. Each colorway was run separately with documented batch codes, and the shipment was split by colorway with room-specific labeling. The installer appreciated the clarity — powder rooms have complex geometry, and any ambiguity in material identification compounds the difficulty.

The designer photographed all four rooms for her portfolio and has since used the same approach for three other clients. Small spaces with saturated or deep grasscloth wallcovering photograph exceptionally well — the fiber texture catches light from a single directional source and reads with far more depth than any paint color achieves in a photo.
